Last Rites Held June 20 for A. Dean Whipple
Funeral services for Albert Dean Whipple, 66, of Bedford, were held June 20 at Shum-Novinger Funeral Home in Bedford conducted by Rev. C. Ray McCain. Mr. Whipple died June 19, 1975 at Bedford. Interment was at Guss Cemetery, Guss, Iowa.

Albert Dean Whipple, son of Austin Crary Whipple and Lula Allen Whipple, was born in Colorado on October 13, 1908.

He grew to maturity in Sharpsburg, Iowa, attending the Sharpsburg school system, and the Presbyterian Church. While in Billings, Montana because of ill health, he attended the Billings Polytechnic Institute for two years, intending to become a Presbyterian minister. These plans were not to be completed, however, because his father became ill and he came back to Conway, Iowa, to care for him and to take care of his farm.

On July 15, 1941, he was united in marriage to Vada Cook at Maryville, Missouri, and they lived at Conway. To this union three children were born: Margaret [May], Austin, and Lula [Kay].

He was a farmer until ill health required that he sell his farm and retire.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

Left to cherish his memory are Vada, his wife; their three children, Margaret [May] Nelson, Austin Whipple, and Lula [Kay] Shimer; one sister, Mrs. Veva [Neva] Pfander; and three grandchildren.

He was a kind and considerate husband, father and neighbor, and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
