J. Alex. Jones, a well known citizen, died Sunday morning at his home seven miles South of Reidsville, near Banaja, aged 86 years. He had been in feeble condition for some time. He is survived by three grandchildren, Mrs. A. P. Sands, H. G. and F. E. Jones; also one half-brother, John Willie Jones, and one half-sister, Mrs. Margaret Harrison. The deceased served with distinction throughout the Civil War as a member of the famous 13th regiment.
