Mrs. Thelma Danford, 71, of 3652 Monterrey, died Monday as a result of injuries received in a car accident near Hope, Arkansas. She was a native of Clay County, West Virginia and a Corpus Christi resident for 28 years. She was a retired school teacher. She was a member of the Ayers Street Church of Christ. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Ayers Street Church of Christ with Fred Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Seaside Memorial Park. Survivors include her husband, M.C. Danford, Corpus Christi; a daughter, Mrs. Lucy Owens, Dallas; a son, Dana C. Danford, Corpus Christi; her mother, Mrs. Orpha Gilpin, Dayton, Ohio; two sisters, Mrs. Romie McCoppin and Mrs. Gail Shirk, both of Dayton, Ohio; four grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Roy L. Little, Marshall Johns, Edwin P. Danford, Dr. R. G. Gudeen, Gene Nance, and Walter L. Maxwell. Cage-Mills Everhart Chapel.
