Services for Lela Mae Medlin, 88, of Lubbock will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Parkway Drive Baptist Church with Wayne R. Williams and Ruben Osena officiating.
Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home of Lubbock. She died Monday, Sept. 2, 2002.
She was born Aug. 20, 1914, in Bridgeport. She married Buford Medlin on March 25, 1931, in Portales, N.M. He preceded her in death. She was a homemaker. She moved to Plainview in January 2002 from Lubbock. She was a member of Parkway Drive Baptist Church in Lubbock.
She also was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Ray, in 1970.
Survivors include three daughters, Rosa Lee Dempsey of Sealy, Verna Faye Smith of Coahoma and Roberta Brown of Austin; two sons, W.G. of Greensboro, N.C., and Dean of Post; a sister, Lorena Nipp of Lubbock; a brother, Woodrow Rains of Lubbock; 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to Prairie House Living Center and VistaCare Family Hospice.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
