John Adam Holsworth was born in Stiftsgrundhof, Neckar, Wuerttemberg, Germany to Johann George Holzwarth. It appears that he changed his name when he got to america. He had a large number of siblings, 4 of which were also named Johann. He had at least 11 kids. His first residence in america was in Iowa. Then he came to Fort Wayne to become a canal boat builder on the Erie Canal that ran through Fort Wayne. He was married three times.
