Samuel's parents were John Stogner, 1778- October 20, 1876; and Nancy Patterson Stogner 1815- unknown (John's first wife was Sarah Coates: 1780- bf 1820). They were living in the Camden district, S.C. in 1798, and found in Lancaster Co., S.C. by 1807.
John had a brother, Benjamin Stogner, and they were the fathers of all those [Stogners] found in S.C., Georgia, and throughout Alabama, and Mississippi.
