Before marrying Mr. Brown (1884), she was married to Elias Baxter Decker. In the mid-1850s, she journeyed from Muskingham, Ohio to visit her brother in Tipton Co., Indiana, where she met/married EB Decker.

Mrs. C.W. Brown, aged 68 years, died at her home near Curtisville on Sunday evening of cancer. Funeral services will be held at the New Lancaster Church on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. The services will be in charge of the Rev. Polly Crouch.
