Opal I., died January 26, 1997, in OKC. She was born July 25, 1912 in Sallisaw, Ok. and spent her childhood there, graduating from Sallisaw H.S. She attended business school in Tulsa before moving to OKC, where she was employed in the insurance business. Opal married Calvin E. Bowman, Sr. in 1936. Through the years she was active in many church and civic organizations. She was a longtime member of the First Christian Church of OKC, and the Keystone Sunday School Class. She was a member of Sigma Sigma Chi Sorority, as well as Uptown Kiwanis Wives, the Ione Branch YWCA, past president of Putnam City PTA, and several other groups and clubs. She was preceded in death by her parents, Perry L. & Ruby (Cotton) Chuculate; husband, Calvin, Sr.; daughter , Carol Elizabeth Bowman & 2 brothers, Owen & Odell Chuculate. She is survived by son & daughter-in-law, Calvin Jr. & Jeanie Bowman of OKC; grandchildren, Elizabeth & Benjamin Bowman of OKC; and several nieces & nephews.
