George W. Pope, 87, 306 McCarty St., Fortville, died Friday afternoon at Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Greenfield.
He was a retired farmer and had lived in the Fortville area his entire life. He was a member of the Fortville Baptist Church, the Masonic Lodge in Eden and the Eagles. He was a World War I veteran.
Survivors include his sisters, Mrs. Ethel Hellert of Anderson, and Mrs. Lilly Moore of Indianapolis.
Services were Monday at the Fisher Funeral Home in Fortville with the Rev. Jack Smith officiating. Burial was at Gravel Lawn Cemetery in Fortville.
