From Holland St. John - "Robert (he always went by his middle name) was the son of Louis George Schauberger and Elizabeth A. Jones Schauberger. He was born on January 25, 1882 near Carmi, White County, Illinois. His parents first established a farm in Posey County, Indiana. It was here that his father Louis met and married Elizabeth. They then relocated in White County, Illinois and took up farming once again and it was here that Robert was born. The 1900 censes records that Robert was eighteen years of age and attending school. The census records his name as "Samuel Robert." It was on January 25, 1912 in White County that Robert married Nellie Becker. The World War I Draft Registration Card of 1918 records that Robert was living in the town of Carmi and was the owner of a sheet metal company. By 1920 the couple were the parents of three children: Kenneth, Murrell and Lyndall J. Robert and Nellie spent their adult years in the town of Carmi where he owned and operated a sheet metal business specializing in heating and ventilation. He died in Evansville, Vanderburgh County, Indiana on June 30, 1944 and is buried in the Maple Ridge Cemetery, Carmi, White County, Indiana."
