"ALBIN NICHOLSON
ONEIDA - Albin Nicholson, 76, Oneida, was found dead at his home Monday at 2:30 p.m. Death was attributed to apparent self-inflicted gunshot wounds.
Knox County sherrif's deputies were called to the scene at 2:33 p.m. by Keith Foster, who said his wife ahd gone to the home of her father and found him on his bed with a gun in his lap. A note was found indicating his intent to take his own life, authorities said.
An inquest will be scheduled, according to Dr. Robert J. Nelson, Knox County coroner.
Funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Hendricks Funeral Home. Burial will be at Oneida Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Military services will be conducted by Oneida American Legion Post 727.
He was born Nov. 16, 1895, and resided during his eaqrly life in Oneida. He lived at Creston, Iowa, for about 20 years before returning to Oneida.
He had been a carpenter most of his life. He was a veteran of World War I, and was member of the Oneida Amercan Legion Post and Masonic Lodge 337.
He married the former Edna Probasco at Creston, Iowa in 1919. She died in 1927.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Arthur F. (Doris) Senner, Henderson, and Mrs. Keith (Juanita) Foster, Oneida; a sister, Mrs. Hannah Strawhacker, Galesburg, eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren."

What is not mentioned in this obituary is Albin did have another son by a woman named Billie Jean Bedwell. His name is Benjamin Nicholson, after Albin's father.
