On August 26, 2010, Troy Jess Skeen passed away in Blackfoot, Idaho.

Troy was born to Joyce and Les Skeen on July 3, 1972 in Reseda, California. He was the second of three children, and the sole boy sandwiched between two girls, his older sister Jolie and his younger sister Heather.

Troy attended school in Simi Valley, California, and then in Moorpark, California. Troy was a gifted musician; playing trumpet, drums, and piano. He was an Eagle Scout at the age of 14 years old. Troy graduated from Moorpark High School. After high school, he served a two-year mission in Tokyo, Japan for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Troy, who was the Elder's President at the time, met and married Laurie Hale, on May 13, 1995 in the Idaho Falls Temple - they were later divorced. Troy and Laurie had Colten Jess Skeen in January of 1999. Colten was the joy of Troy's life.

Troy attended Rick's College in Idaho, and he graduated with a baccalaureate degree from Idaho State University. After graduating from college, Troy became Vice-President of Dr. Grandmas, a whole foods company.

Troy is survived by his son, Colten (Idaho); Joyce and Vic Bunderson (mother and step-father, Provo, Utah); Les and Kate Skeen (father and step-mother, Simi Valley, California); sister Jolie Spahr and family (Washington State); and sister Heather Gooch and family (Utah). He will be sadly missed by many stepbrothers and stepsisters.
