Funeral Thursday for Mrs. Sid Meyer
Mrs. Sidney E. (Amy) Meyer, 82, of Sioux City, died Tuesday, June 24 at a Sioux City hospital following an illness of several weeks.
Funeral services for Mrs. Meyer were held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 26 at St. Luke Lutheran Church, Sioux City. Rev. Jan F. Bengston officiated and burial was in the Remsen city cemetery.
Mrs. Meyer, the former Amy A. Johnson, was born March 4, 1893 at Marcus. Her marriage to Sidney E. Meyer took place in April of 1917, in Cherokee.
The Meyers had lived in Remsen for most of their married life, before moving to Sioux City in 1950.
Surviving are her husband, Sid of Sioux City; two sons, Milton E. of Sioux City and Robert of Remsen; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers were Kevin and Robbie Meyer, Michael Meyer, Donell Engelbrecht, Marlin Idso and John Papajohn.
A memorial has been established at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Mrs. Meyer's memory.
