Violet Elizabeth (Mooney-Stockdale)Peterson
Violet Elizabeth Mooney the second daughter of Jed A. & Katie (Scott) Mooney, was born at Mayflower in McPherson Co, Nebraska on July 11, 1908, and she departed this life November 22, 1943, at the age of 35 years, 4 months, and 11 days.
As the wife of Claude Stockdale, they spent a number of years of her life in the west, making her home in Minatare, NE; Colorado Springs, CO; and Los Angeles, CA.
In 1939 she married John Peterson and for a time made their home at Garden City & Dodge City, Kansas.
At the beginning of their wedded life, theirs was a happy union, the wife doing her part in making a home for her husband. Two years later, she suffered a violent attach of pneumonia, which left her broken in health. Unable to bear any further responsibilities of the home, a seperation was agreed upon, and Violet returned to the home of her parents in Mason City,NE, where she had the assurance of better care. Death came early Monday morning after a prolonged illness.
Preceeding her in death was one sister Mae Mooney. Left to mourn her deathe, besides her parents are 2 sisters Blanch & Carl Bernert amd Verdna Mooney, 2 brothers Jed H. & Glennie Mooney, Jay Mooney, her aged grandmother Mary E. Mooney, and uncle Jay A. Mooney all of Mason City, NE. and numerous other relatives and friends.
