Alma M. (Bettencourt) Dutra was born January 17, 1916 in Centerville, CA, part of the pioneer Bettencourt family.
At Washington High School she was known as a champion debater. She was an avid baseball fan and enthusiastic supporter of her grandchildren and great grandchildren's 4-H and FFA youth projects.
Alma was a member of St. Joseph's Parish and I.D.E.S.
She loved working in the office at St. Leonard's and also served as the PTA president.
Alma, resident of Fremont, entered peacefully into rest August 26, 2010 at Washington Hospital in Fremont, CA. She was 94 years old.
A devoted wife and mother, Alma was preceded in death by her husband Larry Dutra.
She is survived by two daughters, a son-in-law, three grandchildren, five great grandchildren, a brother, three nieces and one nephew.
