Floyd was the grandson of Fatima Ford (b 1843, Vermont) and the son of Sherman (#69527811) Ford. Floyd worked for the Southwestern Bell Telephone Company as a cable splicer according to the 1940 census. He married Helen Wilson and had one daughter, but Helen died in the flu epidemic in 1919. He married Beulah before 1930 and she had at least 4 children from a previous marriage.
