After his marriage, Mr. Tutton spent 3 years in Braxton High School and then became a Baptist preacher. After spending much of his own income to help support the churches that he served, he returned to his old trade as a blacksmith, in Center, Texas.
Survivors included his wife, 6 children, and 6 grandchildren. The surviving children were Mergia (Mrs. Oscar) Miller, Walter and Ivey, all of Center; Arney of Houston; Silas in the U.S. Army in California; and Bessie (Mrs. Carl) Nelson of Shreveport, Louisiana. Two other children died young.
