FLINTSTONE, GA - Barbara Jean Allen Miles, 69, passed away at her home Friday, August 27, 2010.

She was born in Rising Fawn, Ga., to the late Van E. and Myrtle Lambert Allen.

She was a graduate of the class of 1958 at Chattanooga Valley High School. She was a homemaker, she enjoyed cooking, especially pastries. She took great joy in being a wife, mother and grandmother.

She was a member of St. Elmo United Methodist Church.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers: Obie and Charles E. Allen.

She is survived and cherished by her husband of 50 years, Clarence Edward "Sonny" Miles, of Flintstone, Ga,; sons and daughters-in-law, Alan Dean Miles, of Flintstone, Ga., David Lee Miles, of Washington, D.C., Shannon Wayne and Beth-Anne Miles, of Brooks, Ga., Mark Landon and Mechelle Miles, of Flintstone, Ga.; sister, Sarah Allen Janowski, of Flintstone, Ga.; grandchildren: Taylor, Kirby, Thomas, Lilly, Wyatt and Wade Miles; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews.

The family will receive friends from 2 -7 p.m. today and Monday morning until the service.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, August 30, 2010, graveside at Lakewood Memory Gardens - East, Chattanooga with Minister Jim Thomasson officiating.
