LOUIS E. LA CHANCE

Louis Edward LaChance, son of Henry and Elizabeth LaChance, was born at Mine La Motte (Madison County), January 22, 1884, and departed this life at his home in Leadwood [St. Francois County], Missouri, September 15, 1947 at the age of 63 years 8 months 24 days.

He was united in marriage to Miss Hattie C. Rogers, August 27, 1905. To this union were born three children, Ray of Belgrade, Ralph of Annapolis and Lavida of Wortham.

In the early part of his marriage he was united with the Christian Church at Mine la Motte. Later he joined the Methodist Church at Leadwood.

He leaves to mourn his passing besides his wife and children, eight grandchildren and five sisters: Mrs. Josie McKarron of St. Louis; Mrs. Eva Jones of Michigan; Mrs. Grace Johnson of Chicago, Mrs. Lillie McKinney of Fredericktown, and Mrs. Lilia Murry of Colorado. Two brothers preceded him in death.

Funeral services were conducted Thursday afternoon by Rev. Wilfred House and Rev. Charles Conn. The burial was at Mine la Motte with Boyer Funeral Service.
