Dies At Fletcher

Services were scheduled at 3 pm today [02 Jul 1947] in the Fletcher Methodist Church for James Hardy Ball, 85-year-old retired farmer and Fletcher community resident for more than 40 years.
Mr. Ball died of a heart ailment at 6:30 pm [on] Monday [30 Jun 1947] in his Fletcher home. He had been in ill health for some time.

Born in 1862 at DeArmanville, Ala[bama], he married Miss Flora E. Greathouse in 1884 in Alabama. They left their native state in 1895, living at Anson, Texas before moving to Fletcher[, Oklahoma] in 1906. Mrs. Ball died in 1942.

Mr. Ball, a member of the Fletcher Methodist Church, is survived by a son, D. F. Ball [of] Fletcher[, Oklahoma]; two daughters, Mrs. Verna Miller [of] Ringling, Okla[homa]; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Rev. R. M. Templeton, Fletcher Methodist minister, was to officiate with burial in the Fletcher Cemetery [under the direction of] Wisener Funeral Home.
