Henry Earl Rigsby, 89, of Mineral passed away late on Saturday, August 28, 2010. He was the son of the late Charlie Samuel and Eddie Maude Rigsby. He was preceded in death by his brother; Cecil, four sisters; Helen Gammon, Zelma Lloyd, Ethel Estes, Edna Ford, and his son; Samuel Keith Rigsby.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Susie Alvis Rigby; his daughter, Becky Massie (Fred), three grandsons, Rusty, Sam (Gail) and Peter Massie. He is also survived by his sister, Lucille Hayes and a number of nieces and nephews.
Henry was an active farmer from a very young age until recently. He was a charter member of the Holly Grove Volunteer Fire Company and a lifelong member of Gum Spring United Methodist Church.

Henry understood the importance of education. He graduated from Apple Grove High School and made sure that both of his children received college degrees.

His remains rest at Lacy Funeral Home; where his family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 31st from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Funeral services will be held at Gum Spring United Methodist Church at 11AM on Wednesday, September 1, 2010. Interment will follow in church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the building fund of Gum Spring United Methodist Church; 35 Church Lane, Goochland, VA 23063 or to Holly Grove Volunteer Rescue Squad; 143 Factory Mill Road, Bumpass, VA 23024.
