HENRY, TATE M. — Last roll call came to Tate M. Henry, who died last Tuesday evening, May 26, 1903, at New Bethlehem, Pa., which place he made his home for the past two years. He was aged about 64 years.

Eliza. (nee Corbett) preceded him beyond the river, some two years ago last winter.

He is survived by his two daughters, Misses Lillian and Grace, who made their home with their father. Comrade Henry was a veteran of the late Civil war, having served in three different organizations. He first enlisted July 4th, 1861, as a private in Co. C., 62nd Regt. Pa. Vols., and was appointed a Sergeant July 25th, and was mustered in the U.S. Service that day for three years or during the war. On account of sickness he was discharged March 20th, 1862, and returned to his home near Curllsville, Pa. After spending over one year at his home and recovering his health, he entered the U.S. Service again in January, 1864, this time enlisting in Co. K., 11th Pa. Calvary, and serving with his regiment until the latter part of the year when, his health having failed again, he was transferred to the Invalid Corps where he served until after the war closed. Then he returned to his home near Curllsville and engaged in farming, which he followed successfully until two years ago, when he rented his farm and removed to New Bethlehem, the place of his demise.

Mr. Tate Henry was a man amongst men. He was a man of character-upright in all his dealings. He was a faithful member of the Presbyterian church for the past thirty-five years; a member of the Grand Army of the Republic, and lately a member of the Masonic Fraternity.

The funeral will take place near his old home on Friday afternoon, in the cemetery of the Licking Presbyterian church at Churchville, nine miles west of New Bethlehem.
