SIBLEY, ROBERT DOW Born February 24, 1957 to James and Margaret Sibley of Redlands, passed away on April 13, 2005. Rob, who was preceded in death by his sister Kathey Sibley and his father James Staley Sibley, leaves a legion of family and friends from Redlands to Bakersfield, who will miss him greatly, including his children Robert James and Sara Josephine Sibley and Marissa DeLeon and his brother and friend, John Sibley. Rob attended Redlands schools, graduating from RHS in 1975. He was an active in the Terrier Pup football, was a Cope Eagle, a Redlands Terrier and a Bulldog at the University of Redlands, where he graduated in 1979, completing his degree in 1980. He loved and admired his coaches who taught him his good work ethic, especially Coach Serrao; and his parents who supported him at every single game. He led a long career in the oil industry, having worked for Baker Hughes Inteq and its predecessors since graduation. His friends in Redlands and in Bakersfield where he lived prior to his death, will remember a man who in his own words said, "Im poor, Im not pretty, I curse too much, Im sarcastic and cynical at times and more often than not, my big toe hurts, but... I know my heart is full of compassion and understanding". We will remember the funny Rob, the prankster, the Pi Chi playing hockey on the Frat House floor, the Redlands Keggers, the Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath, some will even remember a little bit country; we'll remember the intense and dedicated Rob. We will remember his kindness and generosity. We will remember, a good man.
