MRS. BETTY BEST, A FORMER HOSPITAL DIETICIAN, DIES AT 71


Mrs. Betty Best, 71, of Flora, died at 1:35 a.m. Thursday (today), Sept. 28, 2000 at the home of a sister in Benton.


She was a retired dietician from Flora Care Center in Flora and previously had been a dietician at Fairfield Memorial Hospital for 20 years.


RITES SATURDAY


Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday from the Hosselton Funeral Home in Cisne, with burial in Brown Cemetery at Mt. Erie. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Hosselton Funeral Home.


She was born in Louisville, Ill. Jan. 21, 1929, the daughter of Albert and Marjorie E. Smith Aldrich. She was married to James W. Best in 1949. He died in 1966. Also preceding her in death were her parents, one brother one sister and one grandson.


She was of the Baptist faith.


THE SURVIVORS


Surviving are a special friend, Leland Richardson of Cisne; one daughter. Ann (David) Holmes of Fairfield; four sons, George S. (Carol) Best of Bellflower, Calif.; Mike (Paula) Best, of Fairfield, Bill (Abbie) Best of Dix; and Rick Best of Cisne; two sisters, Jackie McGivney of Louisville; and Berdella Leosier of Benton; 15 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
