Kerry Sue Hutchins of Sparta, Michigan, went home to be with God, early morning on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She was 33 years old.
Kerry was surrounded by her family who had been by her side for her four month stay at the hospital. The staff was exceptional in their care and the love they showed to her. Kerry never lost her fight to live. Her spirit remained strong to the very end; however, her body could not keep up with her will. Her last breath here was followed by a new breath in Heaven where she could sing with the angels.
Kerry graduated with honors from Rockford High School and Grand Valley State University. She participated in music and teaching at Blythefield Hills Baptist Church in Rockford, and going on mission trips to Costa Rica. Kerry and her family have more recently worshiped at Kent City Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Matthew; sons, Cordell Brown, 13, and Aiden Hutchins, 4, all of Sparta; parents, Beckie and Bill Southwell of Kent City, George and Glenda Roby of Grand Rapids; brother, Leigh Roby and Erin Parnell and their daughter, Ryah of Missoula, MT; sister, Melissa Southwell and her son, Noah, of Sparta; brother, Rick Titman of Sparta; sister, Stacia and Perry Vigiletti of Sebewaing; sister, Stephanie and Brad Kerlikowski of Baroga; grandmother, Norma Chapman of Sparta; in-laws, Rich and Colleen Hutchins of Comstock Park; brother-in-law, Jason Hutchins of Sparta; many other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Michelle Southwell.
Visitation: Tuesday August 31, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Kent City Baptist Church and on Wednesday one hour prior to the service.
Those who knew and loved Kerry will mourn her death and celebrate her life on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Kent City Baptist Church with Rev. Chris Weeks officiating. Interment in Idlewild Cemetery, Kent City.
