Zink, Otto Albert, Jr., age 91, of Fairborn, OH, passed away on Monday, July 13, 2009, at Hospice of Dayton. He was born in Greene County, OH on February 9, 1918, the son of Otto A and Margaret (Wolfe) Zink, Sr., who preceded him in death. Otto was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Elizabeth H. Zink, in 1996, his sister, Carrie Mae Domino and a brother, Andy Zink. He is survived by two sons, Mark A. Zink, of Dayton, OH and Max E. Zink, of Beavercreek, OH; three daughters and sons-in-law, Betsy and Steve Struckman, of Cincinnati, OH, Jane and Chuck Vacchiano, of Hillsborough, NC, Pat and Michael Solimine, of Cincinnati, OH; three sisters, Margaret Greene, of Englewood, OH, Helen and husband, Marvin Bausman, of Cambridge, OH and Marianne Dieterle, of Kettering, OH;a brother, Jim and wife, Shirley Zink, of Fairborn, OH; two grandchildren, Jane and Jimmy Solimine, of Cincinnati, OH; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Otto was a charter member of St. Luke Catholic Church, and the Beavercreek Lions Club. He was also a member of the V.F.W. Post 8312 ,Beavercreek American Legion Post and the New Liberty Welfare Association. Otto retired from the Beavercreek School Systems after having taught for 42 years, was a member of the Ohio Retired Teachers Association and was inducted into the Beavercreek Athletic Hall of Fame. He served with the 87th Field Artillery Division of the U.S. Army during WW II, where he received the Purple Heart and other major awards and decorations.
