Addie Aaron
Addie Merricks Aaron, 91, formerly of the Mount Cross community, died Wednesday, Feb. 19, 1997, in Roman Eagle Memorial Home.
Born March 12, 1905, in the Callands community of Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of John Merricks and Patty Eanes Merricks.
She was married to George H. Aaron Sr., who died in 1986.
She spent most of her life in the Mount Cross community, where she was a homemaker. She had been a resident of the nursing home for the past four years.
She was also a member of Timberlake Baptist Church.
Survivors include four daughters, Jewel Saunders and Shirley Adkins, both of Pelham, N.C., Dorothy George and Joyce Angelean Merriman, both of Danville; three sons, Bobby Aaron, George H. Aaron Jr., and Donald Aaron, all of Danville; 35 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and 27 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by three sons, Charlie Aaron, Jack Aaron, and Millard Aaron, and two daughters, Virginia Lashus and Margie Hiatt.
The funeral will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday from Swicegood Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Jimmie Pruitt. Interment will be in Highland Burial Park.
The family will receive friends 7-8:30 tonight at the funeral home, and other times at the residence of a daughter, Joyce Angelean Merriman, 2264 Orphanage Road.
