Richard Dick grew up in Iowa and spent most of his adult life in Minnesota in the Twin City area. Dick was an enthusiastic supporter of barbershop harmony and directed the Minneapolis Commodores and the Bloomington Sportsmens Chorus during the 1960s and 1970s. Later he became a certified judge in the BHS(SPEBSQSA) organization and coached numerous quartets in distinctive careers. He also sang in a few quartets including the Mississippi River Rambers. In the Land O'Lakes district and nation-wide he was respected for his talent and devotion to the craft of four-part harmony. As a friend and mentor he is remembered fondly by several generations of singers, both male and female.
