STUARTS DRAFT, Va. – Elmer Egnuw Christy IV, 47, husband of Nancy Ann (Neff) Christy, of 11 Vance Lane, Stuarts Draft, Va., died unexpectedly Friday morning, Nov. 28, 2008, on Elk Creek in Erie. He was on a fishing trip doing what he loved. He was born on April 6, 1961, in Grove City, a son of the late Elmer E. Christy III and Cora Ward Christy Baxter, and stepson of Robert Baxter of Brookfield. He was a 1979 graduate of West Middlesex High School and Mercer County Career Center. Mr. Christy was a foreman with L.C. Design in Virginia and he was a master carpenter of historic homes. He coached girls’ softball and loved playing poker with his friends on weekends. He was a member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, Staunton, Va. In addition to his wife, mother and stepfather, the family includes four daughters, Christine, Amber and Ariel Christy, at home; and Sara Wine of Waynesboro, Va.; two brothers, Eugene Christy of Hermitage; and Richard Christy of Staunton; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Ellen and Rob Cross and Joanne and Jack Womer, all of West Middlesex; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Marion and Barbara Neff of Staunton; a sister-in-law, Sherry Eastwood and brother-in-law, Mark Neff, both of Staunton; and a number of nieces, nephews and great-nieces and -nephews.
