Anna Louise Anderson was born on August 4, 1910 at Karlstad, the daughter of Adrian and Emelia (Carlson) Anderson. She resided in Lake Bronson before moving to Hazel. Anna graduated from St. Hilaire High School in 1929.

She lived on a farm near Hazel with her husband and children and was a member of Clara Lutheran Church. After the family moved to St. Hilaire in 1956, Anna worked as a cook at St. Hilaire School until it closed. She then worked in the Thief River Falls schools for a total of 19 years. After her husband, Herman, died, Anna moved to Thief River Falls in 1978, residing at Riverside Terrace from the time it opened until June of 1986 when she became a resident of Woodlynn Heights Health Care Center in Inver Grove Heights.

Anna became a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church where she was active in church activities.

She enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, embroidery, crafts, playing cards, and especially, spending time with her family.

Inver Grove Heights - Anna Sandberg, 91, formerly of St. Hilaire, died Monday, May 6, 2002 at Woodlynn Heights Health Care Center in Inver Grove Heights.

Sandberg obit Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 9, at Green Funeral Home in Thief River Falls with Rev. Arlen Hermondson officiating. Joyce Halbasch was the organist, and Chris Cuppett was the soloist. Interment was in Clara Lutheran Church Cemetery in River Falls Township of Pennington County.

Anna is survived by two daughters, Carol (Roger) Whitcomb of Woodbury and Patricia (Duane) Eide of Minnetrista; a son, Robert (Lois) Sandberg of LaFayette, La.; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mayme (Thule) Norman of Bagley.
