H. Everette Brown, 52, a prominent Augusta County farmer, died last night of a heart attack at the home of his sister, Mrs. James L. Yearout, after a three-day illness following an extended period of ill health. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. David H. Brown. He spent his entire life at Springdale Farm near Waynesboro. He was active in civic and county affairs and was a charter member of the Ruritan Club.
He is survived by Miss Catherine Harry and Maslin Brown and nephew, Billy Brown, at home; Mrs. James L. Yearout, of Waynesboro; Mrs. H. Grady Sillings, of Staunton; M. D. Brown, of New York City; William D. Brown, of Maryland; A. F. Brown, of Washington, D. C.; Mrs. H. K. Berntsen, of Providence, Rhode Island; Mrs. F. W. Waters, of Lynchburg; Miss Nan Brown, of Baltimore, and R. L. Brown, of California.
Funeral services will be held at Calvary Methodist Church at Stuarts Draft Saturday at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Herber Bean conducting the services and Rev. A. McK. Reynolds, assisting.
Active pallbearers are Isaac E. Grove, Arthur Houff, John Showalter, Gordon Hunter, Herbert Terrell and Raymond Grove.
Honoary pallbearers are Orville Flory, Earl Hodge, Goege Harper, Chester Slade, Bill Black, Guy H. Branaman, Dr. Ernest Mosby, C. W. Brownlee, Arhtur Grove, Arch Rowan, and Grover Vandevender.
