"Freckles" born in Weldon, south of Lovelady Tx. to Dr. Joseph Henry Nelson & Vanada Goodrum Nelson. Family moved to Eliasville, Tx. "Freckles" was very athletic, went to college to be a p.e. teacher. Married Author Douglas Baker, 2 children Martha Jane "Marty" Baker, Joseph Douglas "Jody" Baker. Lived in Houston many years, then back to Lovelady, worked at the Lovelady State Bank before it went under, then Crockett State School. She was president of Evergreen Cem. for several years. She suffered a horrible death with cancer. Her sister Hazel Lewis lived in Lovelady for many years before her death. Both are missed everyday,
