CHESAPEAKE - Mrs. Eva Browney Creech, 77, of 453 Rutgers Ave., Portlock, died Tuesday at 3:30 a.m. in her home after an illness of six weeks.
A native of Beaufort County, N.C., she lived in the South Norfolk and Portlock area 52 years.
She was the widow of Charles W. Creech and a daughter of James Thomas and Mrs. Delia Canady Browney.
She was a member of South Norfolk Congregational Christian Church and its Ladies Bible Class and women's Fellowship.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Verna C. Stevens of Portlock and Mrs. Virginia C. Hare of Norfolk; a son, John J. Creech of Portlock; and three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. in South Norfolk Congregational Christian Church by the rev. Willis E. Joiner. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Park.
The body will be taken from graham Funeral Home to the church at 1 p.m. Thursday. Th family will be at her home.
