Marvin Abston, 64, of Monterey, passed away Aug. 28, 2010. Funeral services were held Sept. 1 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with Bro. Wesley Jarrett officiating. Interment was in Honey Springs Cemetery in Overton County.
Mr. Abston was born Oct. 24, 1945, in Overton County, the son of Lon and Edith (Lacy) Abston.
He worked at Kerry's Charcoal Plant and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his sons, Dewayne Abston and Michael Abston of Monterey and Gregory Abston (Tabatha) of Crossville; daughters, Kimberly Crabtree (Danny) of Twinton, Deborah Jean Bohannon of Monterey and Christy Bohannon of Crossville; brothers, George Abston and Arnold Abston of Mayland and Willie Abston of Cravenstown; sisters, Betty Smith of Twinton, Emma Robbins of Mayland and Nelly Mahaney of Crossville; 15 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, R.D. Abston and J.L. Abston.
