Minnie possibly did not agree with her mother's marriage or did not like step-father William, for later that same year of 1888 Minnie married to Charles E Porter 1863-1939, her second-cousin, the son of Dr. John W Porter b.1835, and in 1892 they lived in Essex Township very close to Minnie's Mother, stepfather, and sisters.
Together they had at least six children; Leon Joseph b.1889; Louise M b 1891; Daisy E b.1893; Frank Edward b.1895; Bertram Lot b.1889; and Allene E b.1907. She had to endure the tragic death of her six year old son Bertram in 1905. Ten years later in 1915 Minnie separated from Charles. All of the children except Allane were on their own by then, but Allene was only 8.
In 1922 her ex-husband Charles remarried, but Minnie remained single and in Essex Township through 1940, and probably moved to Heartford, CT early during WWII to help one of her children care for their home. She died there in 1953 at just over 80 years of age.
