Lucinda was the oldest child of Francis Grant Hutchinson, Sr. and Susanna Carrico.
Lucinda married a Civil War vet, George Washington Church, Sr. on 28 Feb 1864 in Calhoun County, Illinois. He was the father of 2 children from his first marriage to Margaret.
George was a lumberer in Calhoun County. Lucinda and he were the parents of 6 children. Tragically, all but 2 died in infancy or early childhood, with George, Jr. and Rosa being the only ones who survived childhood.
Lucinda lived until late 1876. At the time of her death, she was 30 years, 11 months and 17 days old. She was buried at Cresswell Cemetery.
Survivors included her husband, George, Sr.; their 6-year-old son, George, Jr.; and 2 daughters, 4-year-old Lillie, and 2-year-old Rosa.
The family faced yet another loss when little Lillie died on New Year's Eve 1876, just 19 days after Lucinda. Lillie and her 3 deceased older siblings, Joseph, Francis and Margaret, may also have been buried at Cresswell Cemetery, but this has not yet been confirmed.
The Church and Hutchinson families moved to Kansas after the loss of Lucinda and Lillie. According to census records, Lucinda and George's youngest daughter, Rosa, lived with her grandfather and step-grandmother in Kansas by 1880.
Lucinda's husband, George, Sr., passed away in Oklahoma in 1909.
