AUDREY M. CONRAD
Former Grants Pass resident Audrey M. Conrad, 80, died Tuesday (Aug. 12, 1980) in Sacred Heart Hospital at Eugene. Born Nov. 27, 1899, in the Shan Creek area, she was a daughter of the late George H. and Susie Griffin.
She was a graduate of Grants Pass High School, where she took a business course. She was employed here as a telephone operator, and later as bookkeeper for Gray and Harbeck Meat Co. and the Grants Pass Irrigation District. After moving to Eugene in 1948, she was secretary several years at the Friendly Street Church of God.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the Friendly Street Church, and burial will follow in Eugene. Andreason-English Funeral Home of Eugene is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include her husband, Warner Conrad of Eugene, whom she married in Grants Pass April 8, 1922. Also surviving are daughters Vurla Bratton, Cunnamulla, Queensland, Australia and Oleita Sanderson of Portland; son retired Maj. Donald Conrad of Salem; sisters Gladys Hagar of Bremerton, Wash., and Alma Fairfield of Grants Pass; brother Merle E. Griffin of Milwaukie; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. A brother, Dale Griffin, died in 1976.
