China Twp. - Vaughn D. Emig, age 62, of China Twp., died Friday, April 27, 2001.
He was born May 7, 1938 in St. Clair to William and Eunice Emig.
Vaughn worked for the St. Clair County Road Commission and then worked 16 years for the Detroit Edison retiring in 2000.
He owned and operated V & W tower since 1976. He was a founding member of the St. Clair Special Police, once serving as their president and was instrumental in the building of the Special Police Hall during his 55-year membership. He was also a member of Evergreen Lodge No. 9 F & AM, and the First United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his sons, David Emig and Jennifer Devroy of St. Clair and Duane (Tiffany) Emig of Marysville; Wanetta DeMars of St. Clair; brother, Lee (Virginia) Emig; and special friend, Helayne Bright of Marysville.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Vaughn enjoyed relaxing and spending time at his cabin in Northern Michigan.
Services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Young Colonial Chapel Funeral Home. The Rev. Thomas Schomaker will officiate. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, St. Clair.
Visiting hours are 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
