Richard G. Kliemann Sr.
ST. CLAIR Richard G. Kliemann Sr., age 70, of St. Clair went to be with the Lord on Saturday. May 27, 2006 following a long illness.
He was born July 18, 1935 to the late Bernard and Ruth Kliemann.
Richard attended Holy Cross Schools and served in the United States Army in Germany.
On April 25, 1959, Richard married Joanne Delore in St. Mary's Catholic Church. He worked for Delore Poultry Trucking, Michigan Well Service, and retired from Unibar Services.
Richard's family was his first priority, he also enjoyed coffee wit the guys, loved a good joke and could talk to anyone anytime. He had a very outgoing and fun loving personality. His kids could talk to him anytime about anything and he would never be to busy to listen. He gave his advise freely but accepted whatever decision was made.
After retirement he developed an interest in woodworking, starting with small projects and progressing to large projects as the family made requests.
He was a loving husband and wonderful father.
Richard is survived by his wife of 47 years, Joanne; children, Richard Jr. (Carole) Kliemann, Kathryn Catlett, Veronica (Mark) Karabacz, Steven (Lisa) Kliemann, Christine (David) Tackaberry and Donna (Ron) Wininger Jr.; 13 grandchildren; Christopher, Matthew and Stacie Kliemann, Jeralyn, Jeremy and Janelle Bailey, Logan and Dalton Kliemann, Ashley, Amanda and Alison Tackaberry, Collin and McKenna Cichocki; brother, Earl (Alice) Kliemann of Washington; sisters, Grace Robbel, Mary Achatz, Theresa Kreusel and Patricia (Joseph) Kreusel; brothersinlaw, Robert Delore Sr., John (Hayla) Delore of New York, Edward Delore Sr. (special friend, Barb Morgan); and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Bernard II and Robert; brothersinlaw, Alden Kreusel Sr. and Anthony Achatz; sisters-in-law, Josephine and Polly Kliemann; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Frederick and Eleanor Delore.
Services will be held at 10 A.M. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, St. Clair. Fr. Ron Victor, pastor, will officiate. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, St. Clair.
Visiting hours are 6 to 9 P.M. today and 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 P.M. Wednesday at Young Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, China Twp. and 9:30 to 10 A.M. Thursday prior to the mass at church. A Rosary will be said at 8:30 P.M. Wednesday.
Serving as pallbearers are Steven Kliemann, Jeremy Bailey, Christopher and Matthew Kliemann, David Tackaberry, Mark Karabacz and Ron Wininger Jr.
Memorial donations may be made to St. John's Hospice or the American Heart Association.
