Swoverland, Richard L. "Dick" Richard L. "Dick" Swoverland, age 86, of McKinney, Texas passed away December 10, 2009. He was born February 11, 1923 in Tiffin, Ohio to Walter M. and Vivian E. (Kreiselmeyer) Swoverland.
On August 27, 1949 Richard married Margaret Treyz in Binghamton, New York. He proudly served in the United States Navy as a Pharmacist Mate 1st Class and attached as a corpsman to the United States Marines. He was stationed in San Diego, California from 1942 until 1946.
Richard graduated from Upper Sandusky High School. He attended Ohio Wesleyan University, the University of Cincinnati and the University of Florida. He was a life member of B.P.O.E #83 and Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity. Dick retired from Southland Corporation as a Senior Operations Analyst. He attended the First United Methodist Church of McKinney.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret T. Swoverland of McKinney, Texas; sons, Kirk A. Swoverland of Dallas, Texas, Mark D. Swoverland and wife, Patsy of Corinth, Texas and Scott E. Swoverland and wife, Donna of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren, Eric Swoverland of Houston, Texas, Erin Swoverland of Corinth, Texas, Justin Knight of Dallas, Texas and Aubrey Inman of Dallas, Texas; great-grandchildren, Allie, Jacob and LoreLei Inman and sister, Phyllis Dillon and husband, Robert of Ann Arbor, Michigan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Vivian Swoverland.
