Son of Clarence Benjamin Ackley & Dicey Magnolia Shults-Ackley. Married Mary Alice Mixon on 05 Oct 1946 in Pampa, Gray, Texas, USA.

His obituary:

Newspaper account in 'The Paris News' of Paris, Lamar, Texas, USA published 19 Feb 2004:

Charles Clarence Ackley

The angels came and escorted the Rev. Charles Clarence Ackely, 80, to his heavenly home on Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2004.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, at Fry-Gibbs Chapel with Dr. Dale Ackley and the Rev. Doug Holt officiating.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m Friday at the funeral home.

He was born on Feb. 1, 1924, in Idaho to Benjamin and Dicey Ackley. There were seven children born to the Ackley family. He had four sisters, Bessie of Tyler, Lena of Shamrock, Margaret, who has gone to be with the Lord, and Ruth of Memphis. One of his brothers died shortly after birth and the other was stillborn.

The Ackley family moved from Idaho to Texas when he was a baby and settled in Shamrock where his father opened his own business as a blacksmith. When his father's health began to fail, he became the breadwinner for the family by learning the watchmaking trade, which he followed until his death.

He married his sweetheart, Mary Alice Mixon of Mobeetie on Oct. 5, 1946. They were blessed with three children, Dale and wife Kathy, who now reside in California, Gayle and husband Pedro Barrios of Paris, and Lonny and wife Karol of Paris. He is also survived by five grandchildren, James and Jason Ackley, Brittany Ackley, Mallory Ackley and Payton Barrios; two great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Bradley Ackley.

He will be remembered as a minister in the Church of God, headquartered in Cleveland, Tenn., where he faithfully served as an evangelist, pastor, teacher, and faithful servant for more than 55 year. Countless scores of people have found their way into the Kingdom of God because of his ministry.

He will also be remembered as a faithful husband, father, grandfather, watch and clock maker, jewelry repairman, student of God's Word, friend, church member and prayer warrior. He owned and operated the Cordova Jewelers in Rancho Cordova, Calif., for almost 20 years. He was a member of Paris Church of God. We now transfer his membership to the heavenly tabernacle in Glory.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
