Chemical engineer and Science Fiction Fan/Filker. After earning his PhD in Chemical Engineering at Michigan State University, he worked as an Environmental Engineer in the Michigan Department of Community Health. He was an avid Science Fan, traveling to conventions all over the country, where he participated in Filksinging, with great enthusiasm, if not great talent.
