Mr and Mrs M. L. Hughes of Leighton, Lose Young son.
It is with a feeling of deep sorrow that we record the death of little Patrick James Hughes, the four and one half year old son of Mr and Mrs M L Hughes of Leighton district, the sad event occurring at the Lamont hospital, on Thursday, September 15th, at 5:30 pm. He had been a patient there for three and one-half weeks.
The funeral was held at St. Anthony's Catholic church on Sunday afternoon, September 18th at 3 oclock. Rev Father Dobson officiating, delivered a comforting address for the grief-stricken parents.
Interment was made in the Lloydminster cemetary and the pall-bearers were B Howell, MacLean, A Benke, E Benke, H Miller and B Hughes his cousin.
I was the same age of Little Pat as he was known to us. I remember Aunty stopping at our home with little Pat as they were leaving for Lamont. They had a large trunk with them with their clothes and necessaties. Little Pat had told his mother earlier that he was going to die in September. He was a nice little boy. His was probably the first funeral I went to and remembered. He had an enlarged heart.
Died of an enlarged heart, at age of 4 years, 6 months.
