She was born Aug. 25, 1922, in Manor, a daughter of the late John M. and Gerna V. Lessig Anthony.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a cafeteria work for Norwin School District. She was a veteran of World War II having served in the Navy. She attended Primitive Methodist Church, Westmoreland City, and was a member of Jeannette Eastern Star.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Brown; daughter, Ruth Ann Bouldin; five brothers, Wayne H., William I., Elmer M., John M. and A. Raymond Anthony; and two sisters, Mabel L. Thompson and Gertrude Alberta Palmer.
She is survived by two sons, James E. Brown and his wife, Karen, of Penn Township, and Norman R. Brown, of Arlington, Va.; daughter, Evelyn M. Humelsine and her husband, Paul, of Adamsburg; five grandchildren, Jim, Renae, Michael, Matthew and Melissa; four great-grandchildren, Reese, Autumn, Meadow and William; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at JAMES E. LINDSAY FUNERAL HOME INC., 3343 Route 130, Harrison City, where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Bernard L. Murphy officiating. Interment will follow Brush Creek Cemetery, Hempfield Township.
