Charles L. Bayer
Charles L. Bayer, 61, of Butler R.D. 3, died suddenly yesterday morning at his residence.
Born in Butler, October 21, 1910, he was the son of the late George J. and Mabel Deer Bayer.
A retired Armco employee, he had worked for 36 years in the inspection department.
Mr. Bayer was a member of St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society of the church, the Happy Hunters Sportsmens Club, and the Lost Chord Club.
Surviving are his wife, Naomi Smith Bayer; three sons, James of Fenelton R.D. 1, Richard of Fenelton R.D. 1, and Thomas of Herman; two daughters, Mrs. F. Joel (Naomi) Calhoun of Butler R.D. 3 and Mrs. Judith Okeson, at home; four brothers, Richard Bayer and Robert Bayer of Butler, Francis in Michigan, and David of Butler; six sisters, Mrs. S. J. (Bernadette) Hamder, Mrs. Lucille Burris, Mrs. James (Rita) Graham, Mrs. Joseph (Patricia) Pitera, and Mrs. Dominic (Gretchen) Leon, all of Butler, and Mrs. Ollie (Eleanor) Rager of Harrisville, and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.
BAYER-Friends of Charles L. Bayer of Butler R.D. 3, who died Thursday, July 6, 1972, will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday from St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church, Carbon Center, with the Rev. Edward Stoehr, pastor officiating. Burial will be in St. Wendelin Cemetery. Arrangements by Geibel.
