CONVERSE — C. Thomas Aguilar, 69, Converse died at 2:45 a.m. Saturday at his residence. He was born in Marion to the late Luis and Mary (Alter) Aguilar and has lived in Converse for the past 17 years. He married Sally A. Buck on March 30, 1960 and she survives.
Tom retired from United Cartage in 2003 where he was head of dispatch. He had previously worked at Hiway Dispatch and formerly owned Aguilar Marathon. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Gas City. He was an avid Cubs fan. He loved all types of music and enjoyed attending concerts and plays. He was a former Little League coach for 20 years at Lincoln Field. He was a member of the "Farm Family" and enjoyed spending time with his family and loved driving.
He is survived by his wife, Sally Aguilar, Converse; sons Thomas A. (Mona) Aguilar, Marion, Christopher J. (Amy) Aguilar, Converse, Mark D. (Andrea) Aguilar, Palm Harbor, Fla.; daughter Suzi Beck, Marion; brothers Jim Aguilar, Gas City, Frank (Mary) Aguilar, Marion, Steve (Judy) Aguilar, Fishers, Bill (Vicki) Aguilar, Warsaw, Rick (Leigh) Aguilar, Marion; sister Anita (Larry) McCrea, Marion; grandchildren Joshua, Zachary, Christopher, Krista, Nathan, J.T.; and special friends Sandy, Kim and Emily Burke.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Joshua Simons-Aguilar.
Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday in Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion.
Funeral service is at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Paul Catholic Church, with Rev. Richard Weisenberger officiating.
