She married William D. Martin of Bishop, Texas in 1947 and became a life long member of the Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by both her parents, two brothers Robert Lee Trant who was killed in a car accident in Houston, Texas in 1956 and her baby brother.
She is survived by her son, Sam R. Martin, his wife, Carmen and two step-grandsons, a brother Wayne Trant of Aransas Pass, three nephews, Keith (Yvonne) Trant of Kingsville, Texas, Ray Trant of Aransas Pass, and Bret (Debbie) Trant of Brackettville, Texas, one uncle, Don Trant and his wife, Doris of Kingsville, Texas, several cousins, and many friends.
Visitation for Dorothy will be on Tuesday August 13, 2002 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A chapel service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 14, 2002 at Turcotte Piper Mortuary Chapel in Kingsville, Texas. Burial will then follow at Chamberlain Cemetery in Kingsville, Texas.
