Retired Army Command Sgt. Maj. Vardman J. Gann, 80, died Thursday, June 5, 2008, in Betsy Johnson Regional Hospital in Dunn.
Command Sgt. Maj. Gann was a Korean and Vietnam veteran with more than 28 years of service in the Army. He was a past master of Fort Bragg Masonic Lodge No. 667.
He was predeceased by his wife, Dessie R. Gann.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 10, 2008, at 11 a.m. in Adcock Funeral Home chapel in Spring Lake. Interment with Masonic rites and full military honors will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park in Fayetteville.
Surviving are two sons, Marvin Russell Gann of Carterville, Ill., and Roger Dale Gann of Fayetteville; a daughter, Barbara Ann Gann Volz of St. Peters, Mo.; two brothers, James K. Gann of Winfield, Ala., and Henry G. Gann of Hamilton, Ala.; and a sister, Rachel G. Adams of Lampasas, Texas. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Adcock Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 10, 2008, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the service.
