Harriett got a letter from him, postmarked South Pass, WY, when he was on his way to the Gold Rush, but she never heard from him again. Harriett remarried 25 Mar 1856 to James D. Williams. Harriett and J. F. Thurman had 1 daughther, Mary Alice Catherine Thurman. Harriett had 4 children by James Williams: William Thurman Williams, Nancy Ellen "Nannie" Williams, George W. Williams, and James Johnson Williams, M.D.
