Dodgeville - Zella Mae Erickson, age 96, of Dodgeville, passed away on Sunday, September 5, 2010 at Upland Hills Health in Dodgeville. She was born on April 22, 1914 in Freeport, Illinois, the daughter of the late John and Minnie (Kepca) Hocking. She graduated from Dodgeville High School in 1932 and lived most of her life in Dodgeville. On June 2, 1937, she married Orion Erickson. He preceded her in death in September of 1976. She worked for General Telephone of Wisconsin, GTE and now, Verizon, for 38 years and for Grace Lutheran Church, retiring at age 88. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and its Rebecca Circle.
Zella is survived by her daughter, Betty (Earl) Williams, of Dodgeville; her grandchildren, Jeff (Pam) Williams, of Westfield, Indiana, and their children, Katie, Kristen and Alex; Tim (Amy) Williams, of Lake Mills, and their children, Shaffen, Brooks, and Avery and stepchildren, Brandon, Austin and Brittany; Todd Williams, of Las Vegas; Kimberly (Keith) Eggers Hulbert, and her children, Kyle, Kendrick and Karley, and stepchildren, Jacob and Cody; Kevin (Lynn) Williams, and their children, Jordan and Chandler; her great-great granddaughter, Maiha; special friends, Paul Shetter; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Ethyl Traxler, her brother-in-law, Mark Traxler, her grandson-in-law, Kevin Eggers and her great grandson, Nathan Williams.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at GRACE LUTHERAN CHURCH in Dodgeville. Rev. Steven Kottke will officiate. Burial will be held in East Side Cemetery. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until time of services on Wednesday at the church.
